Welcome

Welcome to Cindy O's Photography Museum. This is a virtual museum only existing on this blog. As in any Museum, I do not have the capacity to put all photographs on display but I hope to give you a selection.

The goal of this blog is for you to look at the pictures more closley, think about them and, if you wish, contribute your thoughts by posting them. Each post will have a question or task related to one or more pictures, which are meant to initiate a closer look and stir your imagination and creativity. If there is a question, I will answer it in the next post. Have fun with it, everything goes as long as it is appropriate!

So, here is your first task. What do you think the photo on top right shows? Why do you think so?
Also check out the National Geographic Photo of the Day!

  1. I am guessing that the photo shows the tip of two gondolas in Venice. This is a great photograph. I love how the seahorses are different colors or is that the reflection of light. I am also thinking about what is not in the picture, such as tourists, gondolier, the filthy Venice water and the sounds that I associate with it, the splashing of waves, the oar in and out of the water, and of course the singing.

  2. I guessed that the photo was of old horse ties. The kind you used to see on old iron. You would tie your horse's rope to the loop. But I see where they were ornaments for the gondolas. Really great close up of them. Did you take the photo?

  3. I was guessing sea serpent ornaments on some type of boat---the gondolas totally make sense. Is it just me? Or does it look like the two seahorses are racing? What a fabulous photo opp!

I did find the wooden chair back in the lower right a little confusing---it was a bit unexpected, for some reason.

  4. I first thought of Gondolas! I first looked at the ropes attached to the horses, then I saw a cement wall behind them. I naturally went to see if there was water, and there is a slight impression from what I can see. Also, I thought the lighting seemed nice for a wonderful gondola ride in Venice. :)

  5. Well, I cheated because I read the other post first, so I know they are from the Gondolas... But I love your blogging method. You've successfuly developed a way to get users to comment on your photographs, become involved, give a little forshadowing, and then keep em coming back. Great job!
